Our best speakers
22 Dec 2009On Wednesday, December 9th our main annual event – Toastcrackers internal speech contest was held.
The Green drawing room of the House of scientists was full – about 50 people were present, including distinguished Judges from other clubs led by Area Governor Yulia Dmitrishin. 6 members of our club were competing for the 3 places and only two tickets to All-Ukrainian speech contest 2010 (for the 1st and 2nd place).
As a result the winners are:
1st place – Timur Berezhnoy, ACS, our VP Education
2nd place – Oxana Nikiforova, CC, President of our club
3rd place – Ann Solodovnikova.
the Prize of Sympathy of Audience – Elena Solokhina, a new member of our club, for whom this speech contest presentation was the first(!) full-fledged speech in a Toastmasters club!
The Chief Judge Yulia Dmitrishin made special mention of the high level of performance of our members, who participated in the contest this evening. Dear winners! We are expecting “medals” at the next All-Ukrainian Speech contest! Good luck!

Toastcrackers Annual Musical Party!
22 Jun 2009Dear Toastmasters, Guests and everyone!
This Wednesday (June, 24th, 2009) at 19:00 at the House of Scientists (Vladimirskaya 45a, m.st. Zoloti Vorota) in the White drawing-room we will have our annual
MUSICAL PARTY!!!
We invite everyone to take part in this wonderful show.
In the program:
-Musical quizes and competitions, in which everyone can take part
-Musical experts, who will present songs and their collective singing.
-Students of Kiev Conservatory, who will sing pieces from Musicals and Operas in English.
-Special performances
-Mister X unexpected (surprise!)
-Yellow Submarine – the anthem of Toastcrackers.
And all this in the elegant and exquisite atmosphere of the White drawing-room of the House of scientists.
The entrance is free, everyone will get a programm with songtexts (which also has a hidden part!)

All Ukrainian Speech contest results
5 May 2009On Sunday, the 26th of April, the 5th all-Ukrainian speech contest was held in Kiev.
Each club of Ukraine delegated its 2 best speakers and one judge.
About 120 people attended the event, including club members, who supported their fellow contestants, their relatives and friends, other honorable guests.
Our club was represented by Timur Berezhnoy and Galina Nikonchiuk, who took correspondingly 1st and 2nd place at our internal speech contest, that was held in December, 2008.
Both our contestants showed high level of preparation and good public speaking skills, and the audience enjoyed their speeches greatly.
Timur Berezhnoy took the 3rd place and became a laureate of the contest!
With this result we already have 4 “medals” of All-Ukrainian contests at our club.
